Hi! This is The Lance’s Editor-in-Chief, Nicolette Sarmiento.
We, the editors & staff, have finally decided to use this blog as a way to post discussions on several current events issues as well as share our opinion as a staff.
Through our readers’ comments, we would like to start including the public in class opinions & arguments on events that happen both within and outside Bishop Amat’s environment.
With that said, The Lance staff invites you as a reader to start your own discussions.
Thank you!

ReplyDeleteI'm a sophomore and I went on the website today. I really liked it. The only problem I had with it was the placement of the articles. Under Arts and Entertainment are stories of parent teacher conferences and jobs. Besides this I really like the website.
This is now my fourth year at Amat, and may I just say that the author really hit the mark on this one. Up till this year, I have felt and experienced the atmosphere of pep and whatnot exuded by the student body. Unfortunately, this has changed. Every other year, the football games were greatly student-attended and the pep weeks well-observed. I used to have a hard time finding a place to sit at the football games, and costumes for pep week were being hand-made. This year, there are consistently gaps in the dog pound and I have seen an excess of "Me" superheroes. To address the problem of football attendance, I suggest we use a gimmick similar to the "couch potato" drawing normally done for basketball games. As for pep week, I have seen too many students busted on questionable grounds. I agree that there should be some rules, but the deans definitely need to back off a bit. Amat needs a boost of spirit soon, or else the students, the freshman class especially, are in for a long high school career.
